How To Delete A Customer
In this article we will go over how you can “Delete” a customer.
There are two “Stages” a customer can exist in a brand new one that has just been created with no transactions or orders linked to it. And an already existing customer that does have active transactions and orders linked to it.
Depending on which “Stage” the customer exist will determine if you can “Delete” the customer or not.
If the customer exists in the first stage “Brand New” with no transactions or orders linked to it you will be able to delete it.
If the customer exists in the second stage “Already Existing” with transactions and orders linked to it, even if they were “Voided” at some point you will not be able to “Delete” it, instead you will have to “De-activate” it.
How To Delete A Customer (With No Order or Transaction History )
To “Delete” the customer:
- Go to the “Main Menu“, then select “Customers“
On the “Customer List” screen:
- Click on the three dots.
- Select “Delete“
After finding your “Deleted” customers, click on the three dots then select “Undelete” to restore them.
How to Deactivate a Customer
If your customer has had transactions or orders linked to it, you will not be able to “Delete” it instead you will have to “Deactivate” it.
- From the “Main Menu“, select “Customers“
On the “Customer List”:
- Click on the three dots
- Select “Edit“
On the “Customer Edit” screen switch their status from “Active” to “Deactive“, then click “Save“:
