Embroidery Pricing Tutorial

There are four different ways/levels that Teesom can calculate embroidery pricing with.

  1. Basic
  2. Stitch Count
  3. Stitch Count Quantity Breaks
  4. Stitch Count Quantity Breaks with a rate per thousand

We explain each of these in the article below.

To create a new Embroidery Price Matrix, go to Products & Pricing Settings -> Pricelists from Teesom’s main menu.

Then click on “+ New“:

Basic

Basic Pricing” uses a simple flat rate regardless of stitch-count. However you can have a different flat rate for  various quantity breaks. (Flat rate at different product quantity breaks.)

  • Select ‘Embroidery‘ as the ‘Service Type‘.
  • Click the save dropdown arrow and select ‘Save and Edit Retail‘:

If you did not click ‘Save and Edit Retail’ you can enter your retail pricing by clicking on the “3 Dot” menu and selecting ‘Edit Retail‘:

In the example below, for an order of 11 items or less, we will charge a flat rate of $20 per product for the embroidery regardless of the stitch-count.

Then from 12 up to 23 pieces the rate will be $19 per product.

and so on for however many quantity breaks you set:

Stitch Count

“Stitch count” based pricing provides a flat rate for each quantity break with an ‘Included Stitches‘ count. If the orders stitch count exceeds the amount you set then it switches to a rate per thousand stitches.

In the below example; the ‘Amount‘ is the retail price to be charged for any order at or below the designated ‘Included Stitches‘. Any order that exceeds the included stitches, at that quantity break, will be charged at a rate per 1000 stitches instead.

  • For the first quantity break, 0 to 11 products, any order with 5000 stitches or less will cost $20 per product being embroidered. If the stitch count exceeds 5000 then a $4 rate per 1000 stitches will be used to calculate the embroidery cost instead.
  • For the fourth and final quantity break, 50 products and up, any order with 7500 stitches or less will be charged at $18 per product being embroidered.  If the stitch count exceeds 7500 then a rate of $3 per 1000 stitches will be charged.

Stitch Count Quantity Breaks

This is the 3rd level of pricing that can be used for embroidery. Now instead of a flat ‘Included Stitches‘ value, you can set various stitch count breaks on top of the already existing product quantity breaks

For this example we are NOT using the ‘Rate Per Thousand‘ option as this will be discussed in the next section.

  1. The ‘Number Of Breaks’ specified when creating this matrix is what determines how many stitch count quantity breaks there are, in this example there are 7.
  2. The product quantity breaks can then be added row by row, in this example there are 5.

So as an example let’s focus on the first quantity break only.

As you can see the first quantity break, 0 to 11 products, has all 7 stitch count breaks that have been specified. It also has an additional entry field for when the stitch count exceeds the final break and switches to a rate per 1000.

  • An order for embroidery with 1000 stitches or less will be charged at $10 per product.
  • An order with 1001 – 2000 stitches will retail at a flat rate of $18 per product.
  • An order with 2001 – 4000 stitches will retail at a flat rate of $30 per product. Etc…
  • Then if the stitch count exceeds 20000 it will shift over to a ‘Rate Per Thousand‘ stitches of $4.50. (i.e. If an order had 21000 stitches. We divide 21000 by 1000 as it is a rate per thousand. Then we multiply that by 4.5 in this case. So: 21*4.5 = $94.50.)

Stitch Count Quantity Breaks with Rate Per 1000

The 4th and final level / way of calculating pricing available for embroidery in Teesom is a stich count quantity break with rate per 1000 enabled.

We once again have 7 stitch count breaks. There is no longer an extra infinity row as the entire price matrix is using a rate per 1000 now.

Let’s use just the first quantity break, 0 to 11, as an example once more.

The benefit of this price matrix is that it is extremely dynamic. For example:

  • A customer orders a product in the 2nd stitch count break, 1001-2000, where the rate per thousand stitches is $9:
    • An order with 1250 stitches will be calculated at $11.25 per product embroidered.
    • An order with 1500 stitches will be charged at $13.50 per product embroidered.
    • An order with 2000 stitches will be charged at $18.
    • The way this is calculated: Teesom takes the stitch count and divides it by 1000. Then times it by the amount. So lets take the 1500 stitches example; 1500÷1000 = 1.5 then we take 1.5*9 = $13.50.
